To cut cardboard and a layers of protective film, the employees most often use the knife. But wherever there is sharp tool, there is also the risk of occurrence of an accident. Sharp tools are used in various industries but the unpacking of goods is one of the most dangerous processes. These activities are basic activities, such as in-plant stores, warehouses and large stores. Exclusion or at least reduce the risk that arises in a situation unpacking of goods, or in other circumstances - during transport or unloading should be relevant.

Especially often used to unpack the goods are segmented blades without blade guard. In addition, the blade is broken off, and his unexpected fracture during operation can seriously injure a worker. An alternative to these are safety knives, which can be divided into two groups.

The first one is the knives with the concealed blade and the second group includes a self-retracting knives. They are primarily intended for people working in warehouses, stores, production lines, and wherever there is a need for safe opening packages. That kind of knives reduce the risk of worker injury and eliminate the possibility of accidentally falling piece of the blade into a raw material, for example in the food industry.
